Happiness is the key!

Lying on her bed, she did not feel like moving. It was a rough day for her. Parents and friends tried to talk to her but she wanted to be left alone. She kept on thinking about how things were going so wrong for her. In that moment she was not only upset but was feeling left out and lonely.  

We all have these days, where we want to be just left alone. Maybe you had a bad day at work, fight with a friend or parents, maybe you were feeling lost thinking where exactly your life was going or there could be any other reason. But it is us and only us who can help ourselves and come out of that mood and be happier. 

These are a few things that you could do when you are in a bad mood:

  1.  Listen to music and dance it out
    Music has the power to completely change your mood. Play your favourite upbeat music on the highest of volumes and maybe sing along. Or you can dance it out to the music you like till the time you’ve forgotten about your problem or are in a better mood to deal with it.

  2. Sleep
    What can be better than sleeping and forgetting about your problems even if for a while? Sometimes all we need is to take a small nap and recharge ourselves. It not just helps you relax but you wake up with a fresh mind to deal with things.

  3. Talk to a somebody
    We all have that one person with whom you can share everything without the fear of being judged. Talk to that person about whatever is bothering you. You might not need an advice but talking about what’s in your mind certainly, helps a little. I have always been the person who does not openly discuss what is on my mind but talking my best friend or at times my sister has always helped me.

  4. Write
    Not all of us want to talk about our feelings and when that is the case writing about your own feelings certainly does help. Keep a diary or take out a sheet of paper on which you can write about all the things going on in your mind. It does not have to be something extraordinary. Penning down your thoughts is not only a way to relax but it is also a way to say things out loud which you would not say it to anybody else.

  5. Get fresh air
    Last time I was sad, I made a spontaneous plan of going out for a run, something which I generally don’t do. But that day after a 30-minute run, I actually felt better. At times, we need fresh air to clear our thoughts. It is not only healthy for the mind but also healthy for your body. Running or just taking a stroll will boost your mood.

  6. Play with your pet
    Lucky are the people who have pets at home. They not only will love you unconditionally but will help you lift your mood. I would literally do anything to adopt an animal. Take them out for a walk and play with them or just sit with them in a corner and cuddle them. Animals, in my opinion, are the purest creatures of this universe. They will make you feel so loved that you wouldn’t be able to help yourself but smile. If you don’t have a pet, you can always go to animal shelters and spend some time with them and you will definitely come back with a happier mood.

7. Indulge yourself in work
Not all of us have it easy. There are times when you constantly have people around you or heap load of work to finish and we don’t have an option but to put up a smile in front of them(if you’re the kind who do not like to show their emotions) or continue working. It has happened to me and it’s everything but easy. In that case, indulging yourself in some chore might help. Or if you have a lot of work, you can just give yourself 2 minutes of break or put in earplugs with good music and continue working.

8. Take charge
Take charge of your feeling. Stop and introspect why you’re feeling a certain way. Take     a step back and think about ways you can make the situation better. The sooner you         deal with it, the better you would feel.
