Alone, Not Lonely!!

3.30 am, earphones plugged in, she sat in her room with only the fairy lights on, creating a beautiful shadow on the wall.  Singing to herself, she forgot about everything else in her life. In that moment it was just her and the music which gave her immense happiness. The music in which she found her escape. The time she spent alone was her most cherished time. She wasn’t lonely, she just enjoyed her own company. It had taken her a lot of time to accept that sometimes all a person need is themselves.
Listening to her favourite song on repeat, the only thought in her mind was how happy she felt in that moment. It gave her a break from all the crazy multiple muddled up thoughts she had during the whole day. Being with herself gave her a break from the daily routine which was her life.
Being the talkative girl she was, the silence did not bother her. In fact, she enjoyed how everything slowed down, even if for a short period of time.
She was the girl with a twinkle in her eyes.

Often we forget the power of spending time with our own self. Being with yourself does not mean that you’re lonely or nobody wants you. There is a difference between both of them. It is a liberating thing to do. There are times when I feel that I would have been on a different path only if I had done a few things differently. These thoughts come to me when I am sitting alone, evaluating my decisions. When you are on your own, the only person you think about is yourself. It is the most calming thing!! It does not necessarily mean that you need to take life decisions and go all philosophical. It can be as simple as closing your eyes and thinking about your day or even just staring at the wall.

Sometimes you need to disconnect and enjoy your own company!
